How are SPARTAN members identified and contacted? |

All current members will be contacted by email or postal service to identify their continued interest in SPARTAN. Current Members names and contact information will reside on the SPARTAN web site. New potential members are required to submit a membership application and fax it to SPARTAN at (845) 853-1187. |

New members must submit an application with a modified C.V. demonstrating a dedicated interest in spondyloarthritis. A letter of support from a current SPARTAN member is required. |

Persons employed by Industry may not apply for membership. However, industry representatives may attend the programs they sponsor. |

Are there different levels of membership in SPARTAN? |

Full member
This category is for those individuals who have an established record in the field. This could include a minimum number of publications in English language peer–reviewed journals (3-5). Membership status is good for a period of five years. After that period, members must renew his / her membership. Full Members receive all mailings and information about SPARTAN and are entitled to attend SPARTAN meetings. Full Members are able to vote at general meetings.
Associate Member
Associate members are either trainees or those who are developing a record in the study of spondyloarthritis. Associate Members do not have the ability to conduct independent research projects and may apply for full membership at a later time. Associate Members will not be able to vote at general meetings. After two years, Associate Members may apply to renew their Associate Membership or may apply to become a Full Member. Associate Members will receive all mailings and information about the SPARTAN and are entitled to attend SPARTAN meetings. |
