We are planning a virtual abstract presentation forum and poster tour in May 2020 since we will be unable to meet in Madison. Stay tuned for the details!
SPARTAN invites trainees from US, Canada, and Mexico to submit abstracts for presentation at our 2020 Annual Meeting in Madison, Wisconsin. The meeting will feature a wide range of exciting talks, discussions, and networking opportunities with experts, researchers, and up-and-coming leaders in our field. We welcome abstracts related to spondyloarthritis from any disciplinary background. Abstracts should be the product of a trainee themselves, typically working in conjunction with a faculty mentor, but without any input from industry or commercial enterprises
All abstracts will be evaluated by members of the abstract selection committee. Scientifically sound abstracts with relevance to spondyloarthritis (basic, clinical or translational research) will be accepted for poster presentation. The highest ranked abstracts will be invited for oral presentation.
Trainees include students, residents, fellows and postdocs. Results should not already have been published in a peer-reviewed journal. Abstracts presented at other meetings within one year are eligible for submission. Abstracts submitted to the 2020 SPARTAN meeting may also be submitted to the ACR Annual Scientific meeting.
We encourage trainees to register for the 2020 SPARTAN Trainee Symposium and Annual Meeting. Acceptance of an abstract for presentation is not a requirement for meeting attendance. SPARTAN will support travel and hotel for all trainee participants.
We will have a poster viewing session in the evening of May 14. The highest ranked abstracts will be presented in an oral abstract session on May 15. Please note that we expect trainees with accepted abstracts to attend all sessions of the 2020 SPARTAN Annual Meeting from May 14 to May 16.
The abstract limit is 2,750 characters, which excludes the title, names of authors or co-authors, affiliations, spacing and disclosures. A maximum of 3 figures or tables is allowed. Each table or graphic will decrease the character count by 250 characters from the total limit allowed. Additional instructions:
Any work with human or animal subjects reported in submitted abstracts must comply with the guiding principles for experimental procedures found in the Declaration of Helsinki of the World Medical Association.
Deadline for submission is February 22, 2020.
